Make It Safe is owned and operated by Stacy Greenspan, a licensed Massachusetts contractor with over 42 years of experience in the remodeling industry. He is married with three children. Stacy began Make It Safe as a childproofing service in the mid 90's. Since then it has grown to include home safety for the entire family. The transition toward fall prevention began while Stacy was caring for his wife's aging mother. He recognized the difference his skills could make in the quality of her life with simple alterations like grab bars, handrails and an accessible bathroom.
In 2007, Stacy became a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist after completing course work developed by the National Association of Home Builders and AARP. It has changed the way he thinks about building and remodeling. New Englanders are living in some of the oldest housing stock in the nation. This presents an enormous challenge for an elderly person attempting to live safely in a home that was never designed to serve their changing needs. Making home modifications can seem overwhelming, especially to a person on a fixed income. Fortunately, the most effective modifications are the most affordable and easiest to install. The sad fact is that many of these modifications are completed only after a person has already fallen.
Stacy analyzed the most common ways people fall at home and developed some straight-forward solutions. His modification services are simple, attractive and affordable - many have guaranteed prices that include all materials and installation. It's Stacy's belief, that Make It Safe can make a difference in people's lives, helping them to continue living safely and independently in the homes they love.
